As we covered very recently, the city of Omaha is being sued by the ACLU on behalf of a family whose house was raided by 20+ cops (sans warrant) in order to seize cellphone footage taken of their arrest tactics (read: excessive force) deployed to detain someone asking questions about a vehicle being towed. Despite the multitude of police officers swarming the neighborhood, a person filming the incident from across the street went unnoticed.

By the time it was all said and done (and footage released to the press), 32 police officers had been named as co-defendants, and six of those officers had been fired. But like many police officer firings, it didn’t take.

Omaha police officer Bradley D. Canterbury has been reinstated after being fired for a rough arrest at 33rd and Seward last Spring.

Canterbury is the one in the video who seems to throw Octavius Johnson to the ground.

Not only did Canterbury throw Johnson to the ground, but he got in a few swings when (he thought) no one was looking. Here’s the video for a refresher. The throw happens about 11 seconds in. At 2:55, Canterbury looks around for watchful eyes, and seeing none, punches Johnson a few times.

An arbitrator decided that those punches don’t count, even if Canterbury suspiciously omitted them from his report.

According to the TV report, an arbitrator decided in a 38-page ruling that Canterbury’s use of force was justified, calling the strikes “hammer hits” and noting he didn’t kick or elbow Johnson. The arbitrator also decided the city didn’t have enough evidence to show Canterbury purposely failed to mention the second series of strikes, against an already subdued Johnson, in his report, even as two of the officers are facing charges related to the cover-up of the incident.

Now, it’s unclear to me how a “hammer hit” differs from “repeatedly punching” a prone, subdued suspect, but I’m not in the business of putting bad cops back on the street. What it looks like is Canterbury extracting a little “aggravation pay” from the person who kicked off this whole debacle. Finding the street clear of fellow officers (who were warrantlessly storming a house to illegally seize cellphone footage, injuring a wheelchair-bound woman in the process) and, more importantly, citizens with phones, Canterbury “hammer hit” Johnson to remind him who was in charge. Then he submitted a report that glossed over his “hammer hits.”

I’m not sure what evidence the city would need to show a reasonable human being that Officer Canterbury purposely failed to include the extra punching in his report other than:

a.) Canterbury’s report that doesn’t detail the hammer hitting, and

b.) the above video footage.

Perhaps the city should have mentioned that the illegal seizure and destruction of camera footage was indicative of a coverup. Actually, I’m sure it did, considering it used that claim to get rid of the cops in the first place. If cops are covering something up, omitting tiny details like bonus blows is just par for the course.

Now, if Canterbury can get his job back after being caught on tape and caught omitting details, then it stands to reason the other five fired cops have a chance to reclaim their badges. This isn’t a great way to weed out bad cops. In the private sector, most fired people stay fired. But on the other side of the blue line, being canned for violent acts or violating rights is often little more than a momentary setback.

THE ONLY ONE POLICING OMAHA POLICE ARE OMAHA POLICE THEMSELVES. THERE IS NO PUBLIC ARBITRATOR- AND THE PUBLIC IS NEVER HEARD REGARDING COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE POLICE- WHO SEEM INCAPABLE OF POLICING THEMSELVES!!!

These are typical attacks against survivors such as myself on Amazon- Felicity is also another one they like to attack. We are on the front lines- where anonymous trolls like to infer horrible things and make events that they know little about into huge mountains in order to discredit anyone who claims abuse. I, like Felicity- are on the front lines of this mess- where the False Memory Pedophile Protection Squad is able to attack viciously under the cover of secrecy, never able to stand honestly with the power of their convictions as real individuals. It is hard- arguing with trolls that you have no idea about- and to say that it is frustrating enduring their constant attacks is an understatement.

However- Gordon wants the whole world to see what he has to say- and I was feeling generous this morning so I felt that I should share his accusations with the rest of the world by putting it on my blog- although Gordon is convinced that the only people who read it are tinfoil wearing conspiracy theorists. I get 500+ hits a day- and I just want to say that I am grateful for the interest and I have the upmost respect for those of you who consider what I am saying and give it some thought.

This whole argument is coming to the forefront again- and I, like Felicity- am proud to be on the front lines fighting for the truth to come out. Many people have been HORRIBLY HURT by the False Memory Foundation- (I never call it a syndrome because NO PROFESSIONAL HAS EVER PROVED IT IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PROPAGANDA TOOL- in order to shy people away from the real abuse that was happening.)

I find it interesting that the False memory people rarely bring up things such as Temple of Set- which is run by a former member of our elite govt by the name of Michael Aquino. This man was not only named as one of the culprits in the McMartin case- which included not only McMartin but a slew of other day-cares in the area, but also the Presidio daycare case- which was closed and protected by our govt. Assuming that all parents who reported abuse are “usually mentally unbalanced parents harboring weird imaginings or an ax to grind, or both” is so generalized that it dismisses the hundreds of concerned parents who came forth with allegations of abuse regarding their children that involved day-cares. The media- such as Geraldo- did their best to disregard these claims in the public eye in the late 80s and early 90s- just as Lucian Greaves and his Satanic Temple does when he runs rallies for Rick Scott, gets arrested for public indecency in grave yards, and tries to get satanic statues erected in Oklahoma. Doing their best to make satanism normal and innocuous, they promote bad behavior by trying to normalize the behavior in the public eye, which is why people like Jimmy Saville are NEVER arrested or prosecuted. Most who argue for the False Memory generally equate abuse allegations with flat out falsehoods- telling survivors they cant be believed, doing more damage than ever.

Basically- the new article on the Huffington Post entitled “Sex and Satanic Abuse: A Fad Revisited” by Allen Frances is nothing but a persuasive piece trying to convince people that child abuse never happens- that those parents who who report it are “mentally unbalanced parents harboring weird imaginings or an ax to grind, or both.” Don’t trust the police or the prosecution- because “ambitious prosecutors… used the cases to make a name for themselves.” Worse… “Parents, police, prosecutors, and therapists who theoretically were there to protect the kids from abuse instead themselves became their abusers.” The only ones who are the victims in this type of behavior are people like Jimmy Saville I guess. Of course- this is the case that has the Pedophile Protection Squad the most nervous- as people are beginning to realize the REALITY of this type of abuse. Of course- Frances is desperately trying to push through and help promote a man by the name of Noll- who wrote an article in Psychiatry Today that was nothing but a propaganda piece that was removed because it was so full of falsehoods. Desperately claiming that the abusers of children are the only victims here- people like Frances and Noll continuously call the survivor’s liars and go on and on about how the pedophile abusers are innocent. The fact that the Huffington Post promotes this is just sad, and the fact that these people believe that everyone involved with reporting child abuse are liars is disgusting in my opinion- and just wrong.

A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. More than five children die every day as a result of child abuse. Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under the age of 4. It is estimated that between 50-60% of child fatalities due to maltreatment are not recorded as such on death certificates. More than 90% of juvenile sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator in some way. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education. About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse. About 80% of 21 year old that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder. The estimated annual cost of child abuse and neglect in the United States for 2008 is $124 billion. (childhelp.org).

Fact:
A total of 2,039 suspects were prosecuted for Federal sex offenses in 2006, representing about 2.5% of the 83,148 suspects prosecuted in Federal courts. The main sex exploitation offense referred to U.S. attorneys shifted from sex abuse (73%) in 1994 to child pornography (69%) in 2006. Convicted sex offenders sentenced to prison increased from 81% in 1996 to 96% in 2006. (Bureau of Justice statistics.gov).

Fact:
According to the World Health Organization, up to 53,000 children are murdered worldwide each year. 1.8 million are involved in prostitution or pornography and 1.2 million have been trafficked. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Administration for Children & Families. Child Maltreatment 2011.)

Fact: 797,500 children (younger than 18) were reported missing in a one year period of time in America, resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing EACH DAY. (The Center for Missing and Exploited Children 2012).

Fact:
Abused children all learn early to keep their mouths shut. They are told that they will not be believed, that their friends, siblings or families will die if they tell, etc.

Fact:
Those who do survive adapt through various ways: dissociation, acceptance, daydreaming, denial.

Fact:
Those who die are never able to tell their story.

Fact:
Those who live through the abuse either bury the memories through dissociation, become abusers themselves, or live in fear of their abusers.

Fact:
Dissociative Identity Disorder remains a recognized disorder (DSM-IV-TR – American Psychiatric Association).

Fact:
Once in awhile a brave survivor does tell their story of abuse. In the face of adversity – the skeptics, the abusers, the pedophiles – all there waiting to pounce, to create the very reality of her biggest fear – ‘no one will believe you’..
