Great comments on the Woody Allen thing….
I’ve already started seeing the skepticism erupt. Few fans want to believe (and be reminded) that he’s such a disturbed creep. And I can appreciate the point some might make that perhaps Dylan has an axe to grind or maybe has been brainwashed to believe what she believes about her childhood. But when I read her essay all I can feel is the rage of somebody who has experienced and worked to heal from something horrifying. Her rage is no longer like flames or even hot coals, but rather embers that are beyond re-ignition… it’s in her tone. She’s not telling this story to shame Woody Allen, she’s telling it to continue her process of healing. Still, I’ll offer that my observation is entirely subjective. We’ll never know the truth.

But then let’s look at Mia Farrow… the mother, the ex-wife. Sure, vindictive women make up stories about their wealthy, powerful husbands all the time in order to extort more support in the divorce deal. But in this case, I think it’s important to dig a little deeper. Outside of empty revenge and financial support, there was absolutely no benefit for Mia to engage in the ugly court battle that ensued. I’m sure every agent, lawyer and friend in her life told her to avoid that (especially if they held a financial interest in her maintaining her successful career). It would surely ruin her career. Who wants to invite the bitter ex-wife of Woody Allen to their dinner party, the one who accused him of sexually abusing his children? That’s a drab, awkward subject… and in Hollywood, most business takes place during dinner parties. I’m sure she wanted her career to keep going. She’s no Betty Crocker. And she did still have a career after that, but nothing like before… To many, she’ll always be known as the bitter ex-wife of Woody Allen. But when I hear her speak of that time in her life, I hear a tone of a woman who means business… a woman who only wanted to protect her children from a man she thought she knew better… A woman fraught with guilt that she didn’t protect her children sooner. Sure… a person can convince themselves that anything is true…. but at what cost? But again… subjective observations of a person I don’t know.

So then let’s look directly at Woody Allen… the other parent. After being dragged through the mud in ugly public court battles, being accused a child molester… what does he do? Does he take up with one of the beautiful actresses in one of his movies? No… he begins a publicly intimate relationship with his barely-adult adopted daughter, Soon Yi. That alone shows us that he possesses a disturbing interpretation of the father-daughter boundaries of intimacy. But more importantly, we must remember the pathology behind somebody who abuses, assaults and rapes: POWER. Abuse, assault, rape… These crimes are always committed by somebody seeking POWER. It is NEVER just some twisted sense of intimacy or affection. And here you have a man allowed the serial opportunity to work out his personal neuroses on film, for all the world to see, with Hollywood’s most beautiful and talented women right next to him on screen. You’d think being one of the world’s most successful, renowned filmmakers and cultural icons would provide a man a satisfying level of power. But, no. When Woody Allen is accused of being a child molester, he publicly parades his power by marrying his adult daughter. He’s clearly saying to his victims (and I’m sure there are others besides Dylan)… “See what I can do? I can abuse you, I can assault you, I can degrade you, and you can accuse me in front of the eyes of the law and for the entire world to see, and I will still get away with it. I am POWERFUL. I will always be more powerful than you.”

The expose of David Shurter’s lies about his childhood & family history, his false claims about being forced to murder and eat people, his fantasies about growing up in a satanic cult and being trained to become “The Antichrist” by Michael Aquino, was NOT written by Doug Mesner or any member of the Temple of Satan – not that it would matter if it had been.

Of course, all claims of abusive mistreatment reported by a child need to be thoroughly investigated. The lesson we need to learn not to repeat is the failure to thoroughly investigate and either validate or disprove, adult person’s claims to being a survivor of child abuse conspiracies and to possessing expertise about child abuse conspiracies derived from their experience, but nevertheless allowing them to advise and direct child abuse investigations.

lol- this article has nothing to do with me- and yet you and your group does everything they can to diss me whenever you can- probably because no one checks out your site. The article is written in the same style as Doug- and anyone who goes to https://davidshurter.com/?p=4080 can see the true character of this individual. I actually find it humorous that you guys are desperate to quell the respect I have in the survivor community- and not one of you knows what I went through- or any part of my family history. This is just another example of the backlash that you suggests doesn’t exist, and it shows people just what happens to survivors when they come forward and tell the truth of what happened to them. Of course- I am being supposedly controlled by my sister right now- but the whole article- with its foul language- shows exactly what you guys are capable of and how low you will stoop to try and influence public opinion through lies and judgements. At least I am not exposing myself for the public on national media.

Everyone responds to trauma- esp. severe trauma, differently. Going through what we did as children- my older sis ended up being DID while I have complex PTSD. Breaking apart from yourself when you are being tortured is a necessity in order to survive the abuse- and each individual responds to their particular abuse in different ways- but dissociation, in my experience- is ALWAYS a part of it. The backlash that has always denied the abuse that I experienced is sometimes more difficult than the abuse itself- realizing that people are accustomed to discrediting my history- probably because it makes them uncomfortable. However, it makes reporting such abuse even harder- and pretty much impossible as a child. To be honest- when my older sister came forth and started talking about our past- I was her enemy number one- basically because I was humiliated and wanted to keep things secret. But then I began to realize the validity of the fact that what we experienced was not our fault- and that what we went through was not only possible- but probable given our pasts. I spent much of my childhood denying the abuse- telling myself that I was crazy to believe what I remembered- but now have come to the realization that in order to help people, I must stand strong and stand up and talk about what happened. This has been the most healing thing I have ever done for myself!!

As we covered very recently, the city of Omaha is being sued by the ACLU on behalf of a family whose house was raided by 20+ cops (sans warrant) in order to seize cellphone footage taken of their arrest tactics (read: excessive force) deployed to detain someone asking questions about a vehicle being towed. Despite the multitude of police officers swarming the neighborhood, a person filming the incident from across the street went unnoticed.

By the time it was all said and done (and footage released to the press), 32 police officers had been named as co-defendants, and six of those officers had been fired. But like many police officer firings, it didn’t take.

Omaha police officer Bradley D. Canterbury has been reinstated after being fired for a rough arrest at 33rd and Seward last Spring.

Canterbury is the one in the video who seems to throw Octavius Johnson to the ground.

Not only did Canterbury throw Johnson to the ground, but he got in a few swings when (he thought) no one was looking. Here’s the video for a refresher. The throw happens about 11 seconds in. At 2:55, Canterbury looks around for watchful eyes, and seeing none, punches Johnson a few times.

An arbitrator decided that those punches don’t count, even if Canterbury suspiciously omitted them from his report.

According to the TV report, an arbitrator decided in a 38-page ruling that Canterbury’s use of force was justified, calling the strikes “hammer hits” and noting he didn’t kick or elbow Johnson. The arbitrator also decided the city didn’t have enough evidence to show Canterbury purposely failed to mention the second series of strikes, against an already subdued Johnson, in his report, even as two of the officers are facing charges related to the cover-up of the incident.

Now, it’s unclear to me how a “hammer hit” differs from “repeatedly punching” a prone, subdued suspect, but I’m not in the business of putting bad cops back on the street. What it looks like is Canterbury extracting a little “aggravation pay” from the person who kicked off this whole debacle. Finding the street clear of fellow officers (who were warrantlessly storming a house to illegally seize cellphone footage, injuring a wheelchair-bound woman in the process) and, more importantly, citizens with phones, Canterbury “hammer hit” Johnson to remind him who was in charge. Then he submitted a report that glossed over his “hammer hits.”

I’m not sure what evidence the city would need to show a reasonable human being that Officer Canterbury purposely failed to include the extra punching in his report other than:

a.) Canterbury’s report that doesn’t detail the hammer hitting, and

b.) the above video footage.

Perhaps the city should have mentioned that the illegal seizure and destruction of camera footage was indicative of a coverup. Actually, I’m sure it did, considering it used that claim to get rid of the cops in the first place. If cops are covering something up, omitting tiny details like bonus blows is just par for the course.

Now, if Canterbury can get his job back after being caught on tape and caught omitting details, then it stands to reason the other five fired cops have a chance to reclaim their badges. This isn’t a great way to weed out bad cops. In the private sector, most fired people stay fired. But on the other side of the blue line, being canned for violent acts or violating rights is often little more than a momentary setback.

THE ONLY ONE POLICING OMAHA POLICE ARE OMAHA POLICE THEMSELVES. THERE IS NO PUBLIC ARBITRATOR- AND THE PUBLIC IS NEVER HEARD REGARDING COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE POLICE- WHO SEEM INCAPABLE OF POLICING THEMSELVES!!!

We are on the front lines- where anonymous trolls like to infer horrible things and make events that they know little about into huge mountains in order to discredit anyone who claims abuse. I, like Felicity- are on the front lines of this mess- where the False Memory Pedophile Protection Squad is able to attack viciously under the cover of secrecy, never able to stand honestly with the power of their convictions as real individuals. It is hard- arguing with trolls that you have no idea about- and to say that it is frustrating enduring their constant attacks is an understatement.

However- Gordon wants the whole world to see what he has to say- and I was feeling generous this morning so I felt that I should share his accusations with the rest of the world by putting it on my blog- although Gordon is convinced that the only people who read it are tinfoil wearing conspiracy theorists. I get 500+ hits a day- and I just want to say that I am grateful for the interest and I have the upmost respect for those of you who consider what I am saying and give it some thought.

This whole argument is coming to the forefront again- and I, like Felicity- am proud to be on the front lines fighting for the truth to come out.
